Round 1:

  • It will consist of 30 objective type questions testing basic C programming skills.

  • Each question will have four options with only one correct option.

  • It will be of 45 minutes duration.

  • For each correct answer 4 marks will be awarded and for each wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted. However no marks will be awarded or deducted in case the question is not attempted.

  • Teams will be shortlisted for the second round on the basis of score in this round.

Round 2:

Only shortlisted teams from Round 1 can participate in this round.

There are two sub rounds:

2.1 Debugging

  • The teams will be given a C code, along with line number for debugging.

  • The piece of code will contain compile time and run time errors.

  • The code can only be read. Compilation or execution of code is not allowed.

  • Teams are required to write the error, line number and briefly explain the reason for the error in one or two lines. Proper formatted sheets will be provided for giving the answer.

  • The performance will be evaluated on the basis of number of errors identified correctly. Even if the bug is identified correctly but the supporting reason is not correct, that answer will not be taken into consideration.

2.2 Output

  • The teams will be given a C code having several “printf” statements.

  • The code will not have any compile time or run time error.

  • All outputs will be compiler independent.

  • A team has to write the outputs, along with the line number as indicated in the problem statement. Proper formatted sheets will be provided for giving the answer.

  • The code can only be read. Compilation or execution of code is not allowed.

  • The performance will be evaluated on the basis of number of outputs correctly shown.

The final winners will be decided on the basis of cumulative scores in Debugging and Output round.

In case of a tie, the tie will be broken on the basis of the performance in round 1.
