Counter Strike

  • Competition matches are played with 4 to 5 players per team nominal.

  • All matches are playing in standard MR10 format.

  • 10 rounds are played.

  • Teams swap sides.

  • 10 more rounds are played.

  • Match is over when either team scores 11 round victories.

  • Round duration is 1 minute, 30 seconds.

  • The start money for the match will be $800.

  • Maps are randomly selected from the pool of approved maps, 10 minutes prior tothe commencement of match play.

  • In the event of a tie, match will play into overtime:

  • 10 additional rounds are played, 5 rounds per side.

  • Team which lost the initial coin toss selects which side they play as.

  • Starting cash for overtime round is $10,000.

  • The team first to win 6 rounds total will be the winner of the match.

  • If a tie breaker also leads to a draw then 1 extra round will be played and the winner will be the winner of the match.

  • Competition is single elimination ( Knockout ) format.

 

The above rules apply for the matches except for finals.

Finals

  • 2 maps will be played by the teams in the final with the same rules as given before (number of total rounds will be 30) except for the tie-breaker and the selection of the maps will be random.

  • The team with highest number of points after 2 maps will be the winner.

Tie-Breaker

  • Another Map will be played (number of total rounds will be 14). The winner of this map will be the winner of CS 1.6 at Srijan 2012.
  • In case of another tie, tie-breaker rules given before will be applied.

 

  • All players are required to be registered for competition

  • All registrations are to be completed 30 minutes before the first match of competition.

  • A player may only register for one team per competition.

  • A team requires a minimum of 4 players registered to compete.

  • One or more competing players on a team not being registered for competitionis deemed a Class-A violation.

  • The starting side of each team is decided by a coin toss between team captainsimmediately prior to the commencement of match. The winning captain decideswhich team shall play as which side.

 

  • Grace Period

  • If at the commencement of a match, the minimum 4 players are not available, the match will enter into a 10 minute grace period.

  • When the minimum 4 players become available, the grace period will expireand match play shall commence.

  • If after the grace period has expired, the minimum 4 players are not available, the team is forfeit.

  • Teams will be given 5 minutes to configure their settings and after that use of console or change in settings will be strictly prohibited.

  • Player may carry own headphones, joystick, gamepad, keyboard or mouse (USB not PS2 or wireless).

  • Match play will commence with 1 round of warm-up play.

  • Once match play has commenced, no player is permitted to pause or otherwisedisrupt match play. Class-B Violation.

  • Each team shall have a team captain.

  • Team captains are required to.

  • Have the '[c]' tag precede their player name.

  • Ensure all team member understand the competition rules prior to match play.

  • Ensure all team members comply with competition rules.

  • Only the team captain shall liaise with competition admin.

  • Team members may not communicate by any means during the round if dead.This includes verbal communication or the use of gestures. Class-B Violation.

  • A player is deemed dead when his/her health reaches 0.

  • Voice chat is permitted in match play.

  • Game Settings

  • Freezetime: 10 sec

  • Buytime: 20 sec

  • Friendly Fire: On

 

  • The following gameplay tactics are deemed illegal. Class-B Violation

  • The use of personal Textures/Models/Skins/Sounds

  • To plant C4 in any place that prevents the bomb from being defused, or prevents/limits bomb sounds.

  • Defusing where C4 is not plainly visible (i.e. defusing through a wall).

  • The Use of Tactical Shield.

  • Intentional or unintentional use of bugs and/or exploits

    • Silent Planting of C4.

    • Moving silently (Pressing duck repeatedly).

    • Autoaim.

    • Flashbang bug.

  • No cheats or hacks of any kind may be used in match play or warm-up at any

time. Class-A Violation.

 

Disputes

 

  • Only the team captain may submit a protests to competition admin.

  • Protests may only be submitted to competition admin in private, creating publicdispute is deemed a Class-A penalty, regardless of the validity of the protest.

  • Competition admin will have final word on whether a rule has been broken, and what penalty, if any, shall be forthcoming

  • Rematch will be decided by competition admin and is not subject to protest

  • Team members must follow competition admin instruction at all times.

 

Penalties

 

Class B Violation ( Yellow Cards )

  • The first Yellow Card violation in and of itself has no effect. However, a Yellow Card violation will almost always also be accompanied by Match Forfeiture.

  • A 2nd Yellow Card violation REQUIRES that the tournament organizer also issue a Red Card

Recommended Circumstances for Issuing a Yellow Card

  • Excessive stalling/misconduct during a Match (e.g. taking a bathroom break between games in a Match, excessive physical contact with the other player during a Match (e.g. kicking out his stool)).

  • Major misconduct violations during a tournament (e.g. punching, or slamming the screen or joysticks, excessive trash talking, etc).

Class A Violation ( Red Cards )

  • A player is immediately disqualified from the tournament after receiving a Red Card violation.

  • Red Card may be given immediately, without any prior violations, in extreme circumstances.

Recommended Circumstances for Issuing a Red Card

  • Upon issuing a 2nd Yellow Card.

  • Physically harming another tournament particpant (smacking, punching, etc).

  • Excessive Misconduct (e.g. theft, causing a disruption which delays the tournament, racial slurs or excessive trash talking, etc.)

 

 

All the above rules should be followed without argument with the tournament official, the violation of which may result in player or team disqualification, the decision to do the same lies in the hand of the tournament official present there.
